Do you have doubts about an "electric" lawn mower? July 19, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Maybe you think it's no more than a kitchen appliance with delusions of grandeur. Well, electricity is not just for kitchen appliances and vacuum cleaners anymore ... I was tired of repeated trips to the repair shop with my gas mower, so I kicked it to the curb. Literally. I don't need a Cadillac mower for my Mini-Cooper lawn. In addition to the ease of plug in, turn on, and go ...
What I like:
- Light weight. Light enough to manuever with one hand while the other hand tends the cord on turns. ALSO, this holds easily going across an incline, rather than up, which is hard on the lower back, or down, which is hazardous.
- Height adjustment is spring-loaded, and counter-balanced just right. Raising and lowering cutting height is quick and easy. It lowers in a snap from preferred lawn cutting height to its lowest setting for grass or leaves on the drive or street, which quickly turn to near dust for ease of blow-off.
- It mulches great across the lawn; much, much better than the last 2 gas mowers I've owned. That's probably more due to design than power source -- but the mulching is the point. The clippings from one week's growth just disappear. And the St. Augustine grass common here in Florida doesn't mulch as easily as the bluegrass of Kentucky, as memory serves.
- A metal cutting deck, rather than the plastic offerings from a couple of competitors.
I can't speak to how well the bag works; haven't tried it. Bagging is a waste of time, effort, and fertilizer, imho ...
Drawbacks:
- uhhh ... It doesn't make enough noise to wake the neighbors. (Long story ...)
The padding on the handle is not durable. Not at all. But I see some padded bicycle handlebar tape in its future.

I always looked kinda funny at people with electric lawn mowers but,the joke was on me! This mower does a fantastic job on my 1/4 acre lot! I was concerned about the grass catcher after reading the prior reviews but as it turned out,it holds just about as much as my Toro but is harder to empty due to small intake size of bag.No big deal. Took all of 5 min to set up..if that long.Single lever height adjustment is the"best thing since sliced bread". The ball bearing wheels make this mower so easy to push its like walking back and forth around my yard(good exercise)even with a full bag. I used the catcher on front yard but mulched the back.Perfect cut! I would recommend buying a good quality extension cord since you need to provide adequate power to the motor when you are running a 100 ft cord. as to the gripe about having a cord to mess with,no problem at all,I mean it!Its much easier to deal with than my electric trimmer(go figure??)and as long as you start closest to plug and work your way out,you hardly notice it. I am not some "tree huger' just an old guy who hates blowing money on 'quality' lawn mowers that after three years are junk! I hope this one lasts longer and I will no it hasn't without pulling my a_ _ off trying to get it running!

I was skeptical about this as I had never even laid eyes on an electric mower before. Long story short the cord was not a problem and I got used to it very quick. It was powerful and cut through dense St. Augustine grass. I have not tried the bagger so I don't have any opinion on that. I am 6ft4 and usually am uncomfortable with mowers but the handle adjusted to me perfectly. It rolled very smoothly and adjusts height with a single lever.
No problems here ... worked like a champ October 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this lawn mower about a month ago. I had just bought a house and didn't have a mower and money was tight. The monsoons had just ended and the grass was at least 2 feet high in some areas. For the most part even with the grass being so high I was able to do one pass, except for a few areas. I was really impressed!!
My favorite feature is probably the mower height adjustment. With one hand I was able to raise and lower the mower with the greatest of ease. Second would be the fact that I could shut off the mower and turn it back on with the pull of a little lever.
When mowing the lawn using a corded mower like this, start closest to the house and work your way away from the house so the cord doesn't interfere
Enjoy ... I certainly did.
I love this mower November 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My family and I moved into a new home and I wanted to get away from a gas lawn mower. I did some research and this mower's reviews were all good. So I ordered one. I have not been disappointed at all. I use it to mow about an acre of land (we have a shed with electricity in the middle of of the back). When we first moved in I ignored the already long grass in the front for about 2 weeks and it worked its way up to between 6"-8" inches. I started up the mower and zoomed right over it. The next week I did half of the back yard and discovered that it had a lot of hidden rocks in it. It dinged up the blade some but I hadn't noticed at that point. The following week I went for the last half of the back yard which worked its way up to 8"-10" inches. I ended up with some slowdown but when I moved from mulching to a side discharge that took care of most of the slowdowns. It did end up with grass building up underneath and along the side discharge which I feel was to be expected since the grass was long and full of moisture. That's when I noticed the dinged up blade edge from the rocks. I finished up the back, cleaned up the mower, and sharpened the blade. The next time that I had it out the wife and kids(7 and 3) wanted to try it. I walk along side of the 7 year old who can push it and assisted the 3 year old who can push it short distances. Our yard is slightly sloped front to back but pushing the mower is not tiring.
It is now fall and I use the mower to mulch up the leaves in the yard vs raking and burning them.
I have recommended this mower to family and friends.
