Amazon.com Review The Black & Decker 6-inch random orbit waxer and polisher is an exceptional finishing tool. With its multipurpose capabilities and its super-simple handling features, this machine will become an immediate favorite. Use it in your garage on workshop projects, take it to the dock and shine up your boat, or break it out on sunny days and treat your car to a professional-quality detailing job, right in your own driveway. Rubbing down a full-sized vehicle by hand can take all afternoon if you're alone with a bottle of wax, but the WP900 will tackle the task with ease. Its random orbit action mimics a hand-done finish because the circular pad rotates in on a random axis, providing a smooth result without the aching arms and superhuman effort required with mere elbow grease. Its 4,400 orbits per minute speed gives you a gleaming, swirl-free finish that'll look like it cost a fortune. The WP900 is designed to be gentle -- on your car or workpiece, and on your arms. The two-handle style provides a solid grip that won't cramp your hands or jar your joints, and the 10-foot cord is long enough to provide real mobility. This rugged waxer/polisher comes with a foam applicator to apply consistent coats of wax or polish, plus two polishing bonnets to create that high-gloss gleam you love. It's backed by Black & Decker's 2-year warranty. -- Cherie Priest What's in the Box: Black & Decker's 6-inch random orbit waxer/polisher, one foam applicator bonnet, two polishing bonnets

Makes polishing, waxing and glazing a breaze! August 16, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm glad I didn't spend 5 times the price of this random orbital polisher on that other guy's product. Although the foam pad is unreplacable, I put microfiber bonnets over the padded bonnets and it worked just like the more-expensive competitors' models.
It actually took more time to put the wax ON the car than it did to buff it off! I wish I bought one years ago!
PROS: Price was great, performance is awesome, comfortable handles and lightweight. No performance issues at all.
CONS: No replaceable foam pad (just double up the bonnets), no speed adjustment, and the rubber button cover fell off (at no detriment to function.)
For a motorcycle, it's a charm July 31, 2004 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I'm not an advocate of B/D products. They're cheaply made, and, you get what you pay for. Nonetheless, I was in a hurry to acquire a 6" waver/polisher for my motorcycle. And since I would be using this product merely once a week, I didn't want to fork out my life's pension for, say... a porter cable. The unit is compact enough to polish the tight space-confining places on a bike. It's orbital action is fine. 10-feet of cord is a plus. Only thing I dislike about the unit is the elastic-style pads that are shipped. And, the applicator pad is foam. Yuk. Then again... it's Black and Decker. Need I say more? Been using the product for about 3 weeks now. No malfunction problems so far. However, something tells me the switch will be the first to go. It's not a prominent switch, making it tricky (at times) to turn on and off. In sum, I think it's work the purchase... as long as it won't be used for some heavy duty, constant detailing.
Great Polisher! December 25, 2003 15 out of 18 found this review helpful
I recieved this polisher as a gift and could not have been happier. It is easy to use and light enough that most people can reach with it and still maintain control. Although the thought of a cordless unit is nice, I just can't see the same ROI in the long run. I noticed that someone wrote a review stating that the pad blew apart, I luckly had no issues with this being a problem. Besides, it's B&D, they have fantastic service and you can get parts or a replacement unit easily. It would be nice to have a bigger pad relative to the body width, but with some creativity I have enhanced the diameter and outfitted it with some alternate pads.
Great for the price. October 6, 2008 This Black & Decker polisher replaces the previous B&D polisher I owned for 15 years. I've done 3 cars so far and it works great. The pad is firm but still allows access to tight areas. I also like the extra handle. The power button can be a little clumsy but overall, I highly recommend it.
Decent beginner orbital buffer November 11, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
If your just getting into auto detailing as a home consumer, this product isn't bad. The ON/OFF switch is a bit quirky and at times difficult to use if your only using one hand on the buffer and the other holding the cord.
The second issue is with the bonnets, the lambswool bonnets that came with the unit both get soiled extremely fast, and basically are good for one use only. The foam applicator pad couldnt get on the buffer without tearing, I never used it. I purchased this unit with a 6pack of microfiber bonnets from autogeek on Amazon, so I wasnt concerned about the supplied pads, but from B&D they should supply better quality pads.
If I were doing it again, I would not buy this product, but look for another 6" - 7/' orbital buffer.
