Great Toy Destroyed by greed May 28, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This line of figures was very impressive to me. I did not expect it to be as good as i am seeing. This figure in particular is a great replication of the joker as to the other one which is to cartoon-y. I wish that it was respected more for it's purpose (fellow batman fans) than for people who just want money. To bad that this figure came out after Mr. ledger's death. so guess what, it isnt worth anything! wait and find it in stores. I dont think it's that important to spend 70 bucks. thanks
This is pretty funny... July 21, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought my first Joker toy at a local Walmart. Could you guess how much I paid for it? 11 bucks. Then a week later of having no luck I went to my local BigK-mart... can you guess what I found there? The Joker, Batman, and the Thug (the Thug goes for 74 bucks???) I paid 32 bucks altogether.
So please please please don't get ripped of by these jokers.
Just wait and keep searching, trust me... you'll find one. Oh, if you have a run down Kmart by you that no one really goes to, then DEFINITELY go to that one.
Great collectible May 13, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I managed to find this toy at Wal-Mart the day after it was released. Only 2 were left and they were $11.99. I should've bought both but I didn't forsee the frenzy to buy these things that was to come. The toy itself is awesome. It has a lot of detail and it doesn't look like you're average child's toy. The big selling point for me was that it came with a joker card. Yes, I opened it. I'm not going to sell it 20 years from now, I paid a total of $12.22 for it and I'm going to showcase it out of the box. Now, you can't find these things anywhere! Amazon is selling brand new for $69.99!!! If I were you, I'd wait for more shipments to get in. Just like how gamers know when the next shipment of Wiis come in, there are plenty of people that know when toys come in. Just be on the lookout. There will be more. I just got lucky and I just love bragging to everyone that I got one. It's like when Power Rangers came out, you couldn't find those darn toys anywhere. But the big selling point for collector's is that it's a Heath Ledger action figure and he's sadly dead. But don't get scammed by buying online. Wait for more to come at your local toy retailer. Though, eBay has some good deals. But just wait it out. More will come when the movie is released.
good things come to those who wait May 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First of all, I have been waiting for this toy line (Movie Masters) to come out for over 6 months and boy it's better than I expected. I knew that given the circumstances, this figure would be highly sought after. I have tried numerous stores (i.e. toys"r"us, wal-mart, target ect.) and unfortuately I had to resort to a private seller. Here's the thing, if you want these that bad and soon, pay the extra money. Otherwise wait until they hit stores in a much higher quantity. I think that Mattel did this for a reason. To see what the Batfans would do in trying to obtain these figures. I'm a collector, so opening these isn't really what I had in mind. These are great works of art and should be treated as such. The figures themsevles are very evocative of the characters in the upcoming film The Dark Knight. They lend to a higher quality than most, with encredible detail. Be warnned, the (Heath Ledger) Joker figure has a small fillet knife included for continuity of the character and may pose as a choking hazard for younger children. Also, I noticed that very few of the Batman figures in particular have mismatched legs, meaning two left feet and the paint jobs can be a little messy. Overall, these are really great figures to say the least. However, you might be better off checking these out at the stores if you are a meticulous collector. Again, my only gripe is the rarity of such items. I'm sure the movie masters Joker will find its way on the shelves soon enough without anyone having to pay such high prices. Good things come to those who wait.
1st wave or 2nd wave July 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well the reason some sellers are jacking up the price is because there is a 1st wave version and a 2nd wave version. Now both models look almost identical but have subtle differences. The 1st wave was recalled and is no longer being sold, (thus sellers have raised their prices). This is because the jokers face was frightening children and the company decided to make a 2nd version that wouldn't be as scary to kids. Now the reason why people have jacked up the price is because the first wave is much more authentic to heath ledgers joker from the movie and the second wave has the joker making a goofy expression instead of a scary one. Also another way to tell the difference between a 1st wave and 2nd wave model is if there are air holes on the sides of the package you have the 2nd wave model. The second wave model is out in stores but is hard to find and you should not purchase it for more than $20.00
