This is M-Edge management speaking, we apologize for the confusion. For customers that ordered both a case and a light, we ship the case soon after the order is placed. When we confirm the shipment of a case in Amazon's system, the customer's credit card is charged. Unfortunately, Amazon's system charges the customer's card for 100% of the order value. We cannot control this, and if we could, customers would only be charged for the item that was shipped. We have opened a trouble ticket with Amazon to resolve this issue. We completely agree that being charged for an item which will not be available for a few weeks is distressful. A possible short term solution to this issue would be to order the case and the light separately. We realize that this is a bit more work for our customers, but we think it will result in a fair transaction, and less confusion. Again, we apologize for the current situation, and we are doing everything in our power to resolve it.

I just received my light today, I had ordered early, so they must have just started shipping. I see the poor reviews because of the shipping/charging confusion, and I know it was only because of forum comments that I knew that the light had to be ordered separately, but they seem to be trying to work out the kinks in the process. This light fits in the case perfectly, and tucks in along the spine without increasing the bulk of the case at all. It does not interfere with holding the case for reading, even if you are not deploying the light, and it is easy to move into position when you want to use it. The quality of the light is very good, which was not true of the first attachable reading light I bought (which I got rid of and got a Mighty Bright, which is a good one). This is great, I was missing some reading opportunities because it is getting dark earlier, and now I don't have to worry about finding light!

This new book light from M-edge is the perfect accessory for the Kindle. I have had my Kindle for about 6 months and have needed a book light. The e-Luminator work so well, integrates with the jacket, sheds the perfect amount of light for reading in low-light environments. I would 100% recommend this light to anyone who owns a Kindle.
No complaints.

I have the "older" version of the M-Edge Kindle cover. I received it just a few days before the announcement of the upcoming e-Luminator light, or I would have ordered the new version with the light, but never mind - I LOVE my M-Edge cover - red genuine leather. I realize this is not a review of the cover but of the light, so read on. When I saw the new lights, I decided to order one even though it was clear that they were not meant for the cover I had just bought, but since my cover was still so new, and I didn't want to order another one so soon, but I really thought the light looked great... I went ahead and ordered the e-luminator - it was reasonably priced and I figured I'd find some way to make it work with my cover. Well, it arrived yesterday, and that's exactly what I did!
I simply tucked the plastic "tongue" (which is meant to be tucked into a pocket behind and from the left of the Kindle), behind the Kindle from the top. The light arm is flexible so it easly wraps around the Kindle to the left, and the cover closes beautifully and everything is secure. I am thrilled! Like a previous reviewer, I had the Mighty Brite, and had absolutely no complaints, however being able to carry the light right along with the Kindle rather than separately is a huge benefit for me. I travel a lot, and read on planes, etc. and now I don't have to rummage around in my bag looking for the light.. and it's just a pleasure to have that tiny light available whenever I want it. Kudos to M-Edge for excellent design, both in covers (I have one of their other covers as well - the clear plastic for beach reading) and the light. I know the light wasn't meant for the cover I have, but I'm thrilled that it is working great, and would purchase from them again in a heartbeat. I think they are a great company. Innovative and creative, and the note from management in this review column was a nice touch. They really don't have control over how Amazon does business, and they are trying to do well by their customers.

I received my e-Luminator yesterday and I couldn't be more pleased. The light is simple, straightforward, fits perfectly with the M-edge jacket. The lack of a backlight was my only gripe with the Kindle, but now that has been completely solved. When you don't need the e-luminator, it lies flat and is not in the way at all. the whole system really works. It is so nice to finally be able to read my Kindle in bed while my husband is sleeping.
I am not quite sure why people are complaining so much about the shipping and their credit cards being charged $9.99....isn't that pretty standard when ordering anything online.
Regardless, this is a perfect solution for the Kindle. I recommend to anyone who has a Kindle.
