Much Better Looking Than Expected! August 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R25O37UYNNP859 There was a slight problem with my first horn, but Biker Hiway replaced it within 3 days with no questions asked.
Installation: I put this on my VN900 Custom. I found a brace piece welded at the top left of the frame on the left side that was triangular in shape and easy to drill through without weakening anything structurally. By placing this on the LEFT side, the horn faces back as recommended in the instructions. One hole, longer bolt, one wrench. I took off the old horn and used that bolt to mount the relay. Crimped on connectors for two short leads going to the horn and added a 14ga wire from the battery, through a 20-amp fuse, to the relay.
It looks totally professional and is out of the way, with the horn flares and the input port facing backward so they're less likely to suck up water in the rain. It's completely out of the way of my legs and knees.
Performance: Outstanding. Nuff said. Loud, shrill, and commanding.
Biker Hiway: Seldom do you find a vendor like this one. I was certain I'd have to pay shipping to return the item and then shipping to get the new part delivered. This has happened with items for me before. Even a huge TV one time, and that did not amuse! Horrible to have to pay double or triple shipping just because you were sent something defective! NOT AT BIKER HIWAY! A simple email to the customer service people and the new unit was on its way the same day.
Four stars for the horn, simply because the first unit had a short internally.
Ten stars for Biker Hiway because they are immaculate!
from Utopia, TX... Have a goodun!
NOTE ABOUT VIDEO: The lights shown are an experiment, and you might not want to do this. The intent was to have a light that comes on with the horn sound at night so that other motorists see you, rather than looking around for the diesel train! The Stebel horn itself is in the upper left, in case you can't see it.
GREAT! January 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The best addition to my Vespa. I'll never drive another 2 wheeled vehicle without one. Gives a small vehicle Large attention!
Freaking loud! June 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This horn is very loud. It will get you noticed and maybe save you from an accident. It mounted very easily on my '05 Suzuki C-90 using the stock horn mounting bracket. The chrome is a nice added touch. If you're looking for a loud horn that is easy to install, this is it!
Right on the money September 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very loud and easy to install. Nothing left unanswered in hooking up the horn. Service too was top notch. Highly recommend this product and the company.
Stebel Air Horn November 10, 2008 I LOVE IT! I live in an area that 'progress' has ruined and there are WAY too many distracted people out there in cars/trucks, so a LOUD horn on a motorcycle is a MUST. After finding a good place to mount the horn it was easy and very quick. This little horn is SO loud it scares me when I have to use it. I no longer 'toot' my horn to say "hi or bye" to someone. Just the other night, I was riding home after dark and a car was heading toward me, drifting over into my lane (head on isn't good on a bike). I tapped my horn and apparently it woke up the guy in the car because he jerked his wheel and went off his side of the road with two wheels. Glad he didn't over correct, but glad I don't have to rely on the stock weenie horn anymore to keep me safe.
