The 2009 Spring Map Update comes loaded on an SD card, so it's simple to install. Turn off your Magellan device, insert the SD card into the slot, turn your unit on and you're set! Note: Prior to installing the 2009 Spring Map Update on your compatible Magellan GPS device, make sure that you have a USB cable available and that your device is running the most current software available. Software updates are a free download and ensure that your device runs optimally. Easy update by inserting SD card into Maestro 3250 SD slot and resetting unit. It now takes about 20 seconds longer to reboot the unit. Once the SD card is read, GPS asks to sleect your region (Lower 48 SD), etc. If you check your User Options/Map info, it will display Map version 7.0.
NOTE: you must backup using another SD card. I tried backing up the addresses and the Update SD will not let me. You cannot copy the update to a larger 4gb SD card from the original 2gb card.

Update your software to v. 3.12 first from Magellan website. Remove old sd card,install new card,hit reset button.That's it.

Just follow the instructions. Make sure you upgrade the firmware first. If the cable from your digital camera does not fit, you may have to buy a cable to do the download.

The Magellan is really a great little device, and a life saver on trips "into the unknown". The update found here was at a very good price, the shipping was fast, and we're very happy with the results in every way. Highly recommended.
